Retailers should have RSS everywhere! If you do not know what RSS is, if you are an on-line retailer and you have any duties around the internet then you must ask yourself "Have I become complacent in my job". Okay first step is to catch up, RSS is Really Simple Syndication, that does not matter if you get it or not. It is simply a way to offer your content to anyone. "Why would I do that? It is mine mine mine!" I will tell you why.

In the ecommerce/multichannel world you will hear a lot of talk about the long tail. If you plot your inventory assortment on a x-axis and your sales on the y-axis and sort by inventory from left to right you will see it makes a tail. Ecommerce is supposed to support the tail.

Must read for CIOs; Marketing and IT have to work together. The CIO is responsible for this relationship, or soon become extinct. Customer Centricity and technology shifts have separated IT shoppes to have not middle ground either you are good and empower the business or you are no more than a wire that runs power and thought of as much.
